So I haven’t written since I’ve gotten to Normandy at the Jardin de Vauville. Not for lack of having anything to say about this amazingly beautiful place, but truly exhausted at the end of each day. (Which is a great thing)

My journey here was a one hour train ride from Tours to Paris and then a long grueling walk through the metro and then a 3 hour train ride to Cherbourg. Madame Cleophee picked me up and I started work the very next day (Saturday). It took some time to adjust to a much different schedule, new people and a very different garden style.

To say this garden is beautiful is an understatement. It has all the perks of home, minus the unbearable temperatures.

The beach is within walking distance and while I have never been a fan of the beach, this particular piece of heaven on earth brought me more peace that I ever imagined.

The sunsets are unbelievable!! Breathtaking would be the best word to describe them and pictures truly can’t do them justice.

Currently we are mainly focusing on clean up of the garden. A lot of raking, removing dead foliage and blooms and more raking. It’s time consuming and hard work, but the outcome is so worth it!

Today I conquered the tractor!! All by my lonesome! While raking and cleaning may seem boring to most, if you’re heart is in your work, even the mundane becomes beautiful! Love is the secret ingredient in anything you do!!
